The Stewart City Council on Monday night adopted a 2014 preliminary budget that includes a 3 percent tax hike.
The 3 percent levy increase will add about $11,270 in revenue for the city.
Council Member Kevin Klucas had originally proposed a 5 percent levy increase, noting that it was a preliminary figure and that the City Council could reduce the figure before final adoption in December.
