Jay and Shalon Werner of Brownton have been part of the annual Raise the Rouf event since it began 10 years ago.
Raise the Rouf began as a fundraiser for Natalie Roufs, who had breast cancer. Shalon Werner was a close friend of Roufs, who lost her battle to cancer in 2009.
“We’ve helped since day one,” said Shalon Werner. Jay Werner, a member of the Brothers of Unrest motorcycle group, helped organize a motorcycle ride each year. Other activities include a bean bag tournament, a silent auction and live music.
