The Glencoe City Council took the next step Monday night on the proposed 2017 Baxter Avenue street improvement project, approving plans and specifications and setting a bid opening for March 9.
The resolution was passed on a 4-1 vote with Council Member Allan Robeck casting the decenting vote.
Justin Black from Short Elliott Hendrickson, Inc., (SEH) told the council that it is requiring contractors to bid the project in phases to help alleviate the disruption. A new phase will not be started until the previous one is complete.
