Wright County intends to become a member of the Wright County Area Transportation (WCAT) coalition, the Trailblazer Transit Joint Powers Board heard Friday afternoon.
Currently, WCAT partners with McLeod and Sibley counties to provide transit service. Adding Wright County will both allow expansion of service in Wright County, and provide another source of revenue for local share costs of the transit system, as well as working operating capital to tide the system over between reimbursements from the Minnesota Department of Transportation and the fare box revenue.
