The Stewart City Council voted Monday night to drop Winona Street from its latest round of street and utility improvements.
The street runs for one block north and south between Highway 212 and Croyden, and has St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on the east side and the church’s parsonage on the west.
At issue is the church’s desire to keep the street at its current 58-foot width to accommodate angle parking, rather than having it narrowed to a standard 38-foot residential street.
