
When the Minnesota Republicans controlled the House and Senate in 2010, the biennium state budget was about $34 billion.
Now that the Democrats are in control of the two legislative Houses, and the Governor’s mansion, the next biennium budget will top $40 billion, according to local legislators.
State Rep. Glenn Gruenhagen, R-Glencoe, and state Sen. Scott Newman, R-Hutchinson, held a town hall meeting before a handful of people Thursday afternoon to point out the reasons voters need to return Republicans to the majority role in the House, in particular, and the governor’s office as well.
