Glencoe attorney Scott Nokes pleaded for more money for Brownton residents affected by a flood mitigation plan at the Brownton City Council’s June 4 meeting.
The city has received matching grant funding from the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources that is to be used for buying and removing up to eight homes in the flood-prone northwest quadrant of the city.
One of the eight homeowners accepted the city’s offer of 75 percent of the 2012 assessed value of the home, as determined by the county assessor’s office.
