In an unusual action, it took the Glencoe City Council two attempts to pass a motion to complete the sale of a parcel of property — which was started in 1988 — to the Proehl family.
At Monday’s meeting, the first motion to complete the sale of .384 acres of land near the Glencoe City Cemetery failed for lack of a second to the motion. The Leo Proehl family owns 1.134 acres of abutting property, and the sale would allow the family to “square up their property.”
