The McLeod County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday approved a quote of $18,389 to mill off the surface of about a mile of Tagus Avenue west of Lake Marion in preparation of another cement stabilization project to prepare the road bed for a seal coat.
That stretch of road has sparked disappointment by area residents after an experimental prime-and-seal project, designed to give the gravel road a somewhat tarred surface, fell apart. A later cement stabilization project also had issues.
