Expectations exceeded. Heat in the Street attendance soars with nationally known bands

“Overall, it went well,” said Cory Scheidt of the Glencoe Fire Department when asked about the third annual Heat in the Street concert last Saturday.
Sponsored by the Glencoe Fire Relief Association, the group went big this year, booking several nationally known bands to perform at a new location — the west parking lot of the Glencoe City Center.
Performing were Blackhawk, Josh Thompson, Outlaws and Iron Horse Group.
“It exceeded our expectations,” Scheidt said. “But we didn’t know what to expect” about going to national acts for the first time. “It was a good response.”
